How to Delete a (Duplicate) Grave Record

WARNING: These instructions are intended for Users without ESRI Mapping. If your Grave Records are linked to ESRI Maps, deleting a grave record can permanently affect grave-record-to-map linking.  You should create a Support Request to schedule a review of How to Delete a Grave Record and Preserve ESRI Map Linking.

Delete a Grave Record not Linked to ESRI Mapping

  1. Select the Grave Record
    • In Primary Tasks, select “Manage Graves” .
    • Use the Quick Search tool in the lower left corner to locate the grave.
    • Double click the grave record in the list to open up the grave detail view.

 

  1. Remove Deeds from the Grave Record

If there are Deeds Linked to this grave, you first need to un-assign the deed from this grave record.

  • Select the Tools tab in the left hand navigation panel
  • Select the Deed information view
  • Select the Edit Grave button
  • Blank out the Deed Number and press the Tab key
  • Select OK to the warning and then Select the SAVE button

 

  1. Remove Occupants from the Grave Record

If there are Occupants or Deeds assigned to this grave, you must first move or delete the occupant from the grave record:

  • Moving the Occupant
    • Double click on the Occupant to open the Occupant Detail View
    • Select the Tools tab in the left hand navigation panel
    • Select the Change Location Tool
  • Delete the Occupant
    • If the Occupant is mistakenly flagged as Interred, you will need to manage this from the Manage Occupants Primary Task

 

  1. On the Grave Detail View, Click the “Delete Grave” button.
  2. Click “Yes” to confirm deleting the grave record
